Anticipation Builds for the Grand Start in Lausanne
Just days after the conclusion of the men's Tour de France, the cycling world's attention shifts to the women's WorldTour's flagship event, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. Marking its fifth edition, this race features an exceptionally strong field of competitors, all vying for the coveted yellow jersey.
Key Contenders and Course Highlights
Confirmed participants include past winners Demi Vollering, representing FDJ United-SUEZ, and Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney from Canyon-Sram. Defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is also anticipated to join the fray, though her team, Visma-Lease a Bike, has yet to officially announce their full squad. The race kicks off on August 1st in Lausanne, Switzerland, encompassing nine meticulously planned stages. These include a crucial individual time trial, a challenging ascent to the summit of Mont Ventoux, and a spectacular conclusion in Nice.
Team Participation and Roster Details
All fourteen Women's WorldTour teams are confirmed to participate, complemented by seven ProTeams invited by the organizer, ASO. Each team will field seven riders, resulting in a maximum starting contingent of 147 cyclists. This year's field is slightly smaller than the inaugural 2022 edition, which saw 144 starters from 24 teams of six. The reduction is primarily due to one fewer team in the Women's WorldTour, as Ceratizit and Roland departed the top tier at the close of 2025, with only EF Education-Oatly stepping up.
