Coros Unveils Next-Gen Dura 2 Solar Cycling Computer with Voice Control and AI Integration

Coros has officially unveiled its latest innovation, the Dura 2 Solar bike computer, following closely on the heels of other technological advancements in the cycling world. This new device represents a substantial upgrade from the previous Dura Solar model, boasting both hardware and software enhancements designed to elevate the riding experience.

The most prominent advancement in the Dura 2 Solar is its comprehensive embrace of voice control, a feature intended to eliminate the need for cyclists to manually interact with their device while navigating challenging terrain. This allows riders to maintain focus on the road, even with gloved or sweaty hands. The device also maintains the excellent battery longevity of its predecessor, offering over 120 hours of use, with an additional two hours of power generated for every hour of sun exposure. Furthermore, it continues to provide effortless integration with the Coros application, streamlining data upload and performance analysis.

Enhanced Features for the Modern Cyclist

Coros's Dura 2 Solar bike computer introduces several key improvements, building upon the success of its earlier model. A notable change is the reduction in weight, with the Dura 2 Solar now weighing just under 100 grams, thanks to a carbon backplate. This makes it marginally lighter than the original Dura Solar, which weighed 102 grams, while simultaneously featuring a larger 3.5-inch display compared to its predecessor's 2.7-inch screen. The solar panel has also been repositioned to the bottom of the device for optimized performance. Both models offer responsive touchscreens, with Coros assuring that the Dura 2 Solar's display remains fully functional even when wet or operated with gloves. A significant technical enhancement is the Dura 2 Solar's 38Hz refresh rate, setting a new benchmark for MIP displays.

The user interaction experience has been greatly refined with the Dura 2 Solar, offering multiple control options including tactile buttons, haptics, a touchscreen, and the newly introduced voice control. This voice command functionality allows cyclists to execute various actions hands-free, such as switching display pages, setting reminders, configuring ride alerts, and even dictating post-ride training notes directly to the Coros app. An innovative feature allows riders to verbally save map pins or points of interest. Breaking new ground, the Dura 2 Solar is equipped with its own MCP gateway, enabling direct data uploads to platforms like Claude and ChatGPT without requiring complex coding. This makes Coros a pioneer among major cycling computer brands in offering native AI integration. The device is compatible with a wide array of sensors, including heart rate monitors, power meters, smart trainers, radar, lights, and e-bikes, and supports popular cycling platforms such as Zwift, Wahoo, Strava, and TrainingPeaks. Retailing at $499, the Dura 2 Solar will be available for purchase starting November 3, 2026.
